July 2010
Trout fishing has been hit or miss due to the wind and rain. Trout have been good in the ship channel on live bait fishing the drop offs. The problem with this is when a ship comes the water takes a couple of hours to settle out. The channel on the south end of the lake has been good for Trout and Flounder with some reds mixed in. Best bait has been white or chart. 4" Gulp swimming minnow on a 1/4 oz jig head fished along the bank. The best tide has been an incoming tide. Early morining has produced some nice fish on topwater. Best bait has been glow she dog. The jetties have been hit or miss due to the thunderstorms and the wind.

June 2010
Fishing is great in the lake under the birds. Easy limits of trout with reds mixed in. Best bait has been 1/4 oz jig with a glow/chat. 4" samuria shad. Topwater has taken some nice trout on the edge of the schools of fish. The best action has come on the south end of the lake on an incoming tide. There have been some hit and miss trout at the jetties and the short rigs.

May 2010
Fishing has been great when the wind lays down. Lighthouse cove has produced some nice stringers. The best bait has been a Paridise Popper by Bomber with 18" leader with Gulp shrimp 4" new penny underneath it. The birds are starting to work in the lake. The fish are chasing ribbion fish and shrimp. The best action has come form the north end of Sabine Lake with some heavy weight trout coming from there. The best bait has been the bone color badonka-donk by bomber. The best action has come early in the morining. The fish are keyed in on mullet. The later the day get the fish switch to Glow/Chart samuria shad with 1/4 oz jig head.

April 2010
The best fishing seem to be in the ship channel anlong the drop offs in about 8-12 foot of water. The bait of choice has been YUM samuria shad LSU with 1/4 oz jig head. Redfishing has been great in the ICW along the bank. Best bait has been a Paridise Popper by Bomber with 18" leader with Gulp shrimp 4" new penny underneath it. Throw the rig right up against the bank and the tide take it down the bank popping it every 10-15 seconds.

March 2010
Trout fishing is picking up with the fish being caught along the louisanna shoreline. Best baits have been YUM samuria shad in Glow/Chart and LSU when the water is a little off. 1/4 oz jig have been the ticket fished slow along the bottom. Redfish have been fair in the Louisanna marsh on an incoming tide. If you can locate some clear water and bait, mostly mullet , the redfish should not be to far behind. Best bait has been 4" swimming mullet in white or chartruse.

Feb 2010
Febuary is producing about the same as January has. The best bite is still in the channels when the water is blown out and the fish come off the flats. Best baits have been red shad and morining glory tipped with fish bites.

- Capt. Chris

Jan 2010
The best bite has been for red fish when the north wind blows the water out of the marsh and the fish come off the flats into the channels. The best color has been red shad tipped with fish bites. Gulp swimming minnow have also taken the share of nice reds along with some flounders. Trout fishing has been hit or miss due to the rain and wind.
